Marshall

We were asked to help in a rescue operation which involved 28 cats who were kept in appalling conditions and used as breeding machines. We took in one male cat and a female, who we have since called Marshall and Saffy.

The cats were kept in cages stacked on top of one other. Marshall was kept at the bottom, and these were entire tomcats, who as a result of their confined living conditions were covered in urine, and all were under-weight and severely matted. Marshall was taken straight to the vets and was castrated and had to have a complete Lion cut, as his coat was so bad, and he reeked of urine.

Marshall is only a very young cat; he needs a lot of space – something which he has never had. He is a very active cat who runs like a cheetah, and it was felt that sanctuary life – where he has complete freedom – was the best for him. He is extremely friendly and loving and enjoys mixing with all the animals. He has bonded with Saffy, and has given her so much confidence, his favourite pastime is riding on the mower around the fields.
