Volunteering at Hollyview
Hollyview is a unique place to volunteer at because we are not a centre that opens to the public. This is our home and the animal’s that live here have often experienced abuse - it is their safe haven. We are therefore very selective about who volunteers here at the sanctuary.
Any volunteering will be done on an ad hoc basis rather than on a regular one – because that is the nature of what we do. As a volunteer, we are looking for friendly, enthusiastic and caring individuals who have a can-do attitude, and who are passionate about animal welfare.
We are laid back, but we do take the work and caring for our animals very seriously and you will be required to muck in and get along with us and other volunteers.
Volunteering at Hollyview is a fun, diverse role but it is also hard work – with the tasks ranging from looking after frightened cats, to building an assault course for the goats, bathing tortoises, DIY projects, mucking out animal areas, collecting animal feed, going on vet runs etc.
Every day is different and sometimes we must be reactive to situations – and therefore your requirements on any given day could change at the last minute depending on what we are asked to help with, so you will need to be adaptable and understanding.
If having read all of the above, you are still interested in applying for the role of a volunteer at Hollyview, please take a few minutes to complete the following registration of interest form.
If you are successful in being short-listed for a volunteering role at the sanctuary, we will be in touch, and you will be invited for a cup of tea and a chat.
